Update May 18th From the Wings and Wheels Facebook page:
Pete McLeod is also confirmed — Canada’s first and only Canadian, and youngest pilot, to compete in the Red Bull Air Race World Championships. Come out and meet him!
Check out Pete McLeod’s site to see some videos and get yourself out to the Wings and Wheels Festival for a chance to meet him.
I missed this festival in my previous post about air shows taking place this summer and since it’s coming up in less than two weeks I’m giving it a post all of its own. The Wings and Wheels Heritage Festival will be taking place May 28th and 29th at Downsview Park in Toronto.
This event is for airplane lovers and car/motorcycle enthusiasts alike. From the pictures on the show website you can get an idea of the kind of vehicles to expect.
Some of the aircraft slated to appear are:
- C-130J Super Hercules
- Aero L-29 “Delfin”
- CH-146 “Griffon”
Of note is that this show is open to fly-ins and Bombardier welcomes you and your aircraft to Downsview Airport (CYZD). You have to register your aircraft on the show website (which is free) and follow the instructions in the Canadian Flight Supplement.
For more information about this festival you can check out its website, its Facebook Page and follow it on Twitter at @WWHF. You can also buy tickets in advance from the ticket page on the show’s site.
Thanks to James M for the tip about this event.
